The Topic

As a community developer Naita Hishoono asks questions that put the finger in our socio-political wounds. Her presentation will be thought-provoking focusing on 30 years Namibia independence and 30 years of German unification.

Naita Hishoono is the Executive Director of the Namibia Institute for Democracy, a humanist and mother of two girls. Due to her turbulent human- and political history she dedicates her life to ensuring that Namibians and Africans grow together and learn from past historical injustices.

The presentation is part of the series of talks “The long road to Namibia – the making of a nation” offered by the Scientific Society Swakopmund to contribute to countrywide celebrations of 30 years of Namibia’s Independence. Every month the society invited a prominent Namibian public figure to talk about their personal account of independence, Namibian past and present.
