Presentation “What fish ears have to say”

On 23 November at 18 o’clock the Scientific Society Swakopmund invites you to the presentation about fisheries science “What fish ears have to say”.

In this talk Dr Margit Wilhelm will explain what a fish “otolith” (ear stone) is and how it can be used to tell us different things in fisheries science. These range from diet studies of for example fur seals, to determining ages, to growth analyses of fish, to identifying genetic differences of “stocks”, and even to investigate long-term changes in growth of fishes related to climate change.

The entrance is free, donations welcome.
